Combed cotton is an extremely soft type of cotton, produced through a special treatment of cotton fibers before adding them in the yarn. This soft but solid material is perfect for manufacture of sleepwear and all kind of garments which are in touch with the skin.
The structure of the combed cotton is softer because it has no fibers to stick out and feel rough. Besides the fiber has been cleared from all the contaminations. The combed cotton is stronger because the shorter and the more breakable fibers have been removed during the combing process. Furthermore, after processing, the upright fibers stand closer together, thereby avoiding misalignment. Since combing reduces volume and is an additional process, the fabric is a bit more expensive.
